Diamond Etch and Photos

DIAMOND ETCHES

Our diamond etches begin with a photo. The image is digitally processed and edited to be black and white, and some or all of the background is removed. We convert the file to a format that our diamond etch machine can understand – and the machine responds by etching the image into the granite with a diamond-tipped stylus. These images are permanent and will not fade.

Diamond etches can be done with any kind of image. Portraits and meaningful/symbolic pictures are most commonly chosen. We recommend choosing images that are bold and high quality, noting that digital images are easier to work with than paper photographs.
COLORED PHOTOS

These types of monument photos are more commonly chosen if:

  • You are using paper photos or the image is low quality

  • The background in the photo is important

  • You simply want to keep the color of the original picture
